Dunkin' Donuts Case Study

PROBLEM

Dunkin Donuts didn’t necessarily have a problem as the chain is already well established even in the Philippines however they were still open to getting more sales beyond the foot traffic and general advertising sales they were getting. In that regard Dezino started working with Dunkin Donuts in the Philippines in June of 2021.

challenges & objectives

The challenge for Dezino was to do advertising in a completely different market than normal that had a much different culture and language and celebrated different holidays. This along with the demographic of the cities of Dagupan and Tagbilaran were critical. In that regard Dunkin Donuts objective was to see an increase in foot traffic and orders/sales with a budget of $2k USD for Google Ads for 6 months and $500 USD per month for Facebook Ads. As the company already had a good amount of sales it didn’t feel the need to spend more on advertising.

Dunkin' Donuts LLC, also known as Dunkin' and by the initials DD, is a well renowned American multinational coffee and doughnut company, as well as a quick service restaurant. Dezino got to work with Dunkin Donuts in the Philippines (in the cities of Dagupan and Tagbilaran) and through their work there have received opportunities to work with a franchise location in Revere, Massachusetts.

solution / how we helped

Dezino was able to analyse the country, regions and cities in conjunction with the target and lookalike audience of the people that typically visited the shops. Dezino also created compelling graphic designs to be used for Facebook ads along with strategic Google Text Based Ads. For example for Facebook Ads Dezino collected data about the visitors who were visiting such as how they discovered the shop and compiled that into Facebook Lookalike Audiences which helped Dezino uncover large chunks of the population in those cities or neighbouring cities that may have not otherwise known about it. Furthermore Dezino would use retargeting facebook and google ads strategically, especially in combination with promotions, to constantly remind certain viewers to make the trip. These promotions were also conducted in a way in conjunction with the earlier surveys & other strategies to be able to track which specific ads were leading to the most foot traffic. This was a critical and key element as with foot traffic it can otherwise be difficult to determine which ad leads to higher foot traffic and sales, which would leave only engagement and clicks and messages as a determiner. Data is king in marketing. Knowing what worked best allowed Dezino to double down on the campaigns that performed leading to consistent results and growth of sales.

RESULTS AFTER DEZINO

Dezino was able to meet the aforementioned objectives and indeed increase sales for Dunkin Donuts for the Philippines by a good margin. Specifically the Dagupan location saw an increase in sales of 30% after 6 months and the city of Tagbilaran saw an increase of 21% sales. Considering these places were already doing decently well these percentages were considered great and were able to exhaust the location keeping them busy everyday or every other day. So much so that by the end of the 2022 the owner of the Dunkin Donut Philippine locations was able to help Dezino get in contact with the owner of the Revere location in Massachusetts USA where Dezino is to work on later in the second quarter of 2023. To be able to work with one of the biggest franchises in the world is an honor and Dezino is proud to showcase this as a testament of the quality of the work & results we can provide our clients.
